This summer the ICT Center @ our school will once again be offering several ICT courses. Courses will start the week starting 11th July and are open to ages 10 to adult. A certificate of attendance will be presented at the end of the course.

Touch Typing
Description
Touch typing is a skill that will serve you for a lifetime. Develop your keyboard skills and save yourself hours with this course, which will improve your typing speed and accuracy. Touch Typing course includes typing tests, which will help you to work effectively and efficiently, increasing your productivity. Upon completion of this course, you will know the location of the letters and numbers on the keyboard and be able to type faster and more accurately. At the end of the course you will receive a certificate showing your words per minute (speed) and accuracy level.

Programming in Java
Description
This is a revision course aimed at Form 4 students who are currently studying Java for Computing SEC 17 exam. This course will cover all Java content in the SEC syllabus.

2D Drafting
Description
This introductory course of 2D Draughting offers students the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the core computer aided drawing skills while using a free downloadable software. This 10hr course is aimed at students who are following (or obtained) Graphical Communication at SEC level and provides the foundation for further studies or professional development in the CAD related field.

ECDL 2D CAD
Description:
This module is aimed at second- and third-level students, commencing study in fields related to the architectural, engineering and construction sectors, who wish to certify their 2D CAD skills. ECDL CAD is the leading independent international standard for core skills in 2D computer-aided design. ECDL CAD certifies that an individual who has successfully completed the qualification has the skills and knowledge to use the standard software and features of most CAD applications. This 10hr course followed by a pass in a 1hr exam provides candidates the most comprehensive, current and streamlined 2D CAD core skills certification available. It is also suited to those who may work in these sectors already in a non-technical capacity and who wish to acquire or certify 2D CAD skills.

Description:

Robotics
Description:
An introductory course to Robotics whereby, students will learn basic programming skills in an innovative way. The course consists mostly hands on training using the Lego Education Mindstorms NXT and EV3 robotics sets.

Prezi is a cloud-based presentation software and storytelling tool for presenting ideas on a virtual canvas. Description:
An introductory course in game development. Students will learn how to create a game from scratch using SCRATCH. Participants will develop a game in class and will be have the opportunity to develop their own game while learning programming skills and techniques.
